Is there any honey in your honey jar? Turns out you may not be getting what you pay for, so the Food and Drug Administration is now cracking down on honey.
According to new FDA guidelines, if food companies add sugar or other sweeteners to honey they can no longer call it "honey."
Those bottles will have to be labeled "blend of sugar and honey" or "blend of honey and corn syrup," or any other type of "blend."
In past years FDA inspectors stopped honey imports from Brazil and Mexico for containing added ingredients.
There are a lot of studies about the health benefits of honey. Many claim if you eat honey grown in your region, it can help boost immunity and cut down on allergies.
