A wildfire in Mariposa County has consumed 650 acres since Monday night but conditions have fire crews working hard to keep it from getting out of control.
The Hunters Fire is only 20% contained and has forced evacuations from Hunters Valley Road to Bear Valley Road.
Crews are working rotations and are getting ready to face the heat and dry conditions causing record low fuel moisture.
A Red Cross evacuation center has been set up at 2820 Highway 140 at the Catheys Valley McKay Hall and there is also a domestic animal shelter at McKay Hall.
Livestock can be sheltered at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds.
