Sophisticated Drug Tunnel Found Between San Diego And Mexico
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KMPH) —
A major underground drug tunnel has been discovered by drug enforcement agents in Southern California, connecting San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico.
The passageway is equipped with electricity, ventilation and a rail system.
A similar operation was shut down in 2010 and about 30 tons of marijuana were confiscated in that bust.
Officials say this tunnel had not been put into service yet.
