Confederate Flag Ban Proposal Heads To CA State Senate
By Justin Willis
A proposal to ban the confederate flag in California has now passed the state assembly. California state government departments would be prohibited from selling or displaying items with an image of the confederate flag. Democratic assemblyman Isadore Hall, from Compton, introduced the bill after his mother saw replica confederate money being sold at the state capitol gift shop. Hall calls the image a symbol of racism, meant to intimidate. The bill is on its way to the state senate.
