Clovis North Stopped In State Semifinal
LONG BEACH, Calif. (KMPH) —
The Clovis North High School football team saw its season come to an end Friday night in Southern California. The Broncos lost to Long Beach Poly in the CIF State Championship semifinal game, 28-7.
Clovis North, with back-to-back Valley titles, was the Central section's first Division I representative ever to reach the state tournament.
The Broncos took an early 7-0 lead on a touchdown run by Bolu Olorunfunmi, but also missed two field goal attempts on their first three offensive possessions.
The Jackrabbits then scored 28 unanswered points to win it going away.
Long Beach Poly advances to the D-I championship game against Granite Bay.
Clovis North ended the season with a record of 12-2.
