Climber's Death Is Yosemite's First This Year
YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (KMPH) —
A 38-year-old man was killed in a fall Sunday afternoon from Yosemite's El Capitan, national park officials said.
Mason Robinson, of Montana, was with a climbing partner when he fell about 230 feet, park officials said.
Other climbers watched the fall and called 911. a helicopter lowered rangers about 800 feet to rescue the live climber and recover Mason.
Officials say both Robinson and his partner were experienced climbers and had climbed in the park before.
his is the first climbing death in Yosemite this year.
