Caught On Camera: Wanted Parolee Still on the Loose, Police Say Two More Cars Stolen

Fresno Police nearly caught up with a wanted parolee Monday morning, but he bolted before officers moved inand took off, in dramatic fashion.

Officers had been looking for 28-year-old Randy Lee Grill since Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies say he carried out a burglary, stole a truck, and got into a shootout Southwest of Fresno in June.

"To us, it's reckless abandon to get away," says Sgt. Timothy Tietjen, with the Fresno Police Career Criminal Auto Theft Team.

Tietjen says Grill had stolen two cars in Southeast Fresno Monday morning.

An officer had spotted Grill by Monday afternoon, but he bolted as soon as he saw officers were onto him.

Part of his escape, was caught on a surveillance camera, as he ran through a tow yard, near Van Ness and California.

He could be seen casually walking onto the grounds, jumping into a golf cart and driving away.

A worker nearby ran after himand at one point was dragged by the golf cart.

Moments later, Grill hit his head on a fence post, jumped off the cart and ran away.

He didn't appear to skip a beat, or suffer any pain.

"We understand he has a high meth problem and doesn't want to go back to jail," Tietjen says. "That's his fear. He's motivated and he's violent."

Officers believe he zig-zagged through nearby streets in the industrial park, south of Downtown Fresno.

Eventually, officers believe he made his way into the maintenance yard for Prickett's Distributing, and stolen a truck that he may still be driving right now.

The red, Chevy 2500 has the lettering for "Pricketts Distributing."

If you see him, you are urged to call 911. He may be armed.
