The Fresno State football team has moved into another phase of practice.
After learning the new schemes of first year head coach Tim DeRuyter and working on fundamentals during training camp, the Bulldogs are now focusing on their first opponent.
While the players are anxious to finally face an opponent, the coaching staff is installing the game plan for Fresno State's season opener against Weber State.
Both teams are at a disadvantage, because both schools have new head coaches and assistants, and will be running new systems.
Without any videotape to use as a reference, coaches rely on looking at the opponents' personnel. They must also be prepared to make more adjustments than usual during the game.
The season opener is September 1st at Bulldog Stadium.
