KMPH-TV FOX 26 and KFRE CW 59 are accepting applications for a Broadcast Maintenance Engineer. The successful applicant will have at least two years experience in broadcast engineering and be able to accept the responsibilities of this position which include: oversee the installation, optimization, and maintenance of Master Control (MC) and Technical Operation Center (TOC) broadcast equipment necessary for the prepping, airing, monitoring, and logging of scheduled content for television station transmission, & distribution systems. They will maximize signal quality; install, optimize, and upgrade computer systems, severs, and SW, including broadcast automation and control SW, news-related control, content handling, playout and editing SW, and broadcast graphics SW (VizRT Artist, Trio, and Graphics Engines); install, configure, and operate broadcast players, ingesters, switches, routers, SANs, network storage systems, as well as Tandberg/Ericsson satellite receivers and reverse engineering IFB SW and HDWE; analyze and test the performance of MC and TOC equipment and confer with Chief Engineer to verify equipment is working efficiently, and will ensure compliance with station and federal requirements; develop and update system documentation, write operating manuals for all MC and TOC equipment, and consult with MC Operators to formulate and improve technical SOPs; liaise with other depts. to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and maintain and audit discrepancy logs and equipment incident reports to identify performance deficiencies and implement improvement measures.
