The man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a Fresno girl will make his first court appearance Monday afternoon.
Kalvin Cardenas, 23, is facing several charges, including rape, kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor.
Cardenas was arrested at his Clovis home following a standoff with police last Wednesday.
He's accused of abducting the ten-year-old while she was on her way to school in Fresno last Tuesday, then raping her and leaving her in a field near Kerman.
The girl was found walking down the road by good Samaritans, who then called her parents and got help.
So far, Fresno County Sheriff's detectives have recovered what they call pieces of evidence in the case, including Cardenas' truck, a blanket and the girl's bicycle. Detectives say they're still looking for the child's bicycle helmet and backpack.
