9/11 Memorial & Museum Souvenirs Offensive To Some

Family members of victims of the World Trade Center attacks are now upset with souvenir sales at the new 9/11 museum in New York City."We understand that they have to make money to make the museum run, but I think this is going a bit overboard, and I think its tacky and it's an insult to the people. It's a national disgrace," says former FDNY fire chief Jim Riches. Here's what people are upset about: 9/11 hoodies, hats and coffee mugs. Some say these souvenirs take away from the honor the memorial was meant for. Others say the items are a way to pass on to future generations that we should "never forget." A spokesperson for the 9/11 Memorial and Museum says that the souvenirs were chosen as respectfully as possible. The museum opens to the public starting Wednesday, May 21st.
