FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) — Fresno police are investigating two deadly crashes that ended with three people killed Wednesday overnight. Just after midnight there was a crash on B Street and California in southwest Fresno. Police say a car with two men inside was going north on Elm Street. The driver then tried to turn onto California but officers say it was going too fast, hit a curb, and went through a brick wall. Officers say the two men were not wearing seatbelts. Both of them were killed. Officers are trying to determine whether alcohol may have been a factor in this crash. Less than an hour later, there was another deadly crash. This one was on Weber and Shields. Officers say the man lost control on Weber and after he tried turning onto Shields. The car hit a light pole. The man was pinned in. He was wearing a seatbelt. Firefighters used the jaws of life, to get him out, but he did not make it. Officers don't believe alcohol had anything to do with this crash.
