176 Pounds of Meth, $58,000 Found in Madera House

Agents from the Central Valley Marijuana Investigation Team (CVMIT){}along with federal investigators, seized 176 pounds of crystal{}methamphetamine from a home in Madera Thursday night.

The drugs were found after a search warrant was issued for the home located on the city's east side, authorities say.

Inside, investigators also found $58,000 in cash. They estimate the value of the drugs to be around{}$750,000 and are calling it one of the largest stashes uncovered in the area.

Investigators believe the meth was smuggled from Mexico in liquid form and then converted into crystalized form for distribution at the house in Madera.

The home was empty at the time of the search and no arrests have been made.

Several local, state and federal agencies were involved with the search and seizure and are continuing the investigation.

The tip that led investigators to the{}house came from the California Highway Patrol.
